We are thrilled to announce that the Porsche Belles have received international recognition from Porsche AG for encouraging more women to take part in Club activities.
The Porsche Global Community Management Future Topics Award for Porsche Clubs was held for the first time this year, receiving 40 entries from Clubs in 22 countries. Each award category focusses on excellence in one of the driving forces underlying a thriving community.
With Detlev von Platen, Member of the Executive Board for Sales and Marketing, as patron, these awards carry significant prestige within Porsche. “For more than seven decades, the Clubs have been an essential part of the Porsche family,” says von Platen. “This is why we came up with this idea, celebrating the efforts of the Clubs to strengthen their community spirit and to prepare them for the future.”
Porsche Club Great Britain is thrilled to have won first place in the How to be More Diverse category for its Porsche Belles initiative. The judges stated: “Porsche Club Great Britain created a social group for women with a passion for Porsche, offering events, social channels, articles and a network. They aim to foster a culture of encouragement, motivation and support, and accessibility for those who may be considering a Porsche but don’t know where to start.”
“I’m delighted that Porsche AG has recognised our Porsche Belles initiative with this global award. I congratulate the organising group for taking the idea and evolving it into something meaningful,” commented PCGB Chair Nick Taylor.
“Huge thanks are due to Michelle, Samantha, Siobhan, Jane, Jacqueline, Caroline and Suzanne for their ideas and energy. And, of course, to my good friend and Board colleague Carrie Mason for her drive and determination in leading the initiative.”
“The concept of doing something powerful to encourage women enthusiasts to join and become more engaged in our Club is surely sound. We have firm plans to develop and grow the Porsche Belles and will invest the €3,000 prize to that end.”
