Collecting Cars reaches milestone revenue

Just two years since their first sale, Collecting Cars is celebrating £100 million of sales

Having closed its first auctions in June 2019, Collecting Cars has now generated in excess of £100 million in revenue for its vendors on its two-year anniversary.

Founder and CEO of Collecting Cars, Edward Lovett, said: "Surpassing the £100 million sales mark is a key milestone on our path to becoming the leading global online auction platform for collectible cars, and it is down to sellers and buyers who believe in a smarter and simpler way of transacting that we have achieved it so quickly.”

To help commemorate the milestone sales total, behind the wheel of a certain bright yellow Porsche, Chris Harris helped the Collecting Cars team to ‘zero in’ on their achievements.

In recent months, the platform handled the high-profile sale of The Leonard Collection, focusing on rare 'Rennsport' Porsches, as well as The Brunt Collection of modern performance cars and rare superbikes.

At the time of writing, the platform also holds the auction world records for the Renault Clio V6 in both Phase 1 and Phase 2 guises; as well as the Audi RS2 Avant, and Land Rover Defender Works V8 70th Anniversary. It has also broken the European auction records for the likes of the Mercedes-Benz 280 SL ‘Pagoda’ and the Porsche Carrera GT.

While it established itself as the clear UK market leader in 2020, Collecting Cars is now a global auction platform with curated consignments spanning all corners of automotive desire. Whether great value hot hatches, highly original classics, or exceptionally rare contemporary supercars; it is always the intention to have ‘something for everyone’ live for bids.

The best-selling brand on Collecting Cars is Porsche, with more than 400 cars sold since launch - including more than 300 examples of the 911, from every generation spanning the 1960s through the latest 992 model.

In early 2021, Collecting Cars opened offices in Sydney and Munich, and it has just launched its first US auctions with a specialist team based in Los Angeles.

In January 2021 Collecting Cars became an official partner of Porsche Club GB, with Club members able to take advantage of the £150 photographers fee being reimbursed if they list their Porsche with the online auction site and the sale is successful.

Auctions are live for seven days, during which time your car stays with you. The winning bidder then has seven working days to pay for and collect your car. Want to know more?
