Porsche’s new fingerprint personalisation option: thumbs up or thumbs down?

Gavin: There is something not quite right with that design, but I just can’t put my finger on it.
Simon: Yes to developing a fingerprint recognition ignition system. Personalised fingerprints, no. You might as well go back to having your name on the sunstrip!
Steve: Personalisation is great but this is crazy. Plus, what about resale? Who’s going to buy a car with someone else’s fingerprint on it!
Naf: This is great. It clearly shows you that the owner of the vehicle this is mounted on has more money than taste. You can decide to avoid them without even meeting them.
Charles: Sorry Porsche, but it’s pointless and, quite frankly, ridiculous!

Mike: I’m not generally a fan of stripes and things on road cars, but I rather like the fingerprint idea.
Barrie: I do see the point, though personally if I wanted designs on my new Porsche I’d have them replicate those on the 991 911 R.
