The best gets even bigger as the London Classic Car Show expands

Capital’s top classic car event gets a new show and more space for 2017.

The capital’s biggest and best classic car spectacular – the London Classic Car Show – is growing again. The 2017 event will embrace not one but two exciting exhibitions.

Now in its third year, the show – which will be held at ExCeL London from 23-26 February 2017 –  will cover 40,000 square metres of exhibition space, up from 32,000 sq. m in 2016 and 18,000 sq. m at the inaugural show in 2015.

But with more than 700 stunning classic cars on display, innovative features such as The Grand Avenue and Car Club Square and the brand new Historic Motorsport International to accommodate, every last centimetre will be needed.

Historic Motorsport International is an important new exhibition which incorporates a conference and will champion and celebrate historic motorsport. Entry will be free to London Classic Car Show ticket holders.

HMI will have up to 100 historic competition cars for sale from leading specialist dealers with other exhibitors including engineers and preparers, organisers and promoters, motorsport clubs, governing bodies, retailers and media owners. A ticketed conference, hosted by broadcaster Henry Hope-Frost, will gather leading names in historic motorsport to discuss hot topics such as the use of modern technology in classic race and rally cars, driving standards and sponsorship.

Another feature to make a popular return is The Grand Avenue, a ground-breaking all-action roadway running through the very centre of the show and along which some of the world’s greatest classic road and competition cars are driven.

It means The London Classic Car Show is no mere static exhibition but a living, breathing homage to the automobile… where else can you see Le Mans winners, Grand Prix racers, classic supercars and century old veterans in action in the centre of the capital?

This year’s expanded show will also include an open paddock allowing visitors to get even closer to the cars.

There will also be plenty of opportunity for visitors to join the classic car movement with more than 85 per cent of the dealer space already booked. Among the leading dealers confirmed for 2017 are Duncan Hamilton, Hall & Hall, Hurst Park, Nicholas Mee, XK Classics, Graeme Hunt and JME Healeys. Major manufacturer displays will also be staged by Aston Martin and Maserati.

The 2017 London Classic Car Show is also certain to attract many celebrities from the motoring world. The roll-call from previous years includes the likes of James May, Adrian Newey, David Coulthard, Jenson Button, Sir Stirling Moss, Ari Vatanen and Gordon Murray: more big names are promised for 2017.

“The 2016 show was enjoyed by more than 33,300 visitors and we are confident that the expanded 2017 exhibition will be even more popular,” said event director Bas Bungish.
