Class winning 964 Carrera 2 to go under the hammer

Former class one winning 964 Carrera 2 to feature in the Silverstone Auctions Race Retro sale.

This former class one winning 964 Carrera 2 will feature in the Silverstone Auctions Race Retro Competition Car Sale on Friday 27th February.

Professionally converted at a cost of £100,000 to meet Porsche Club GB Championship regulations, this car won the 2010 Class One title, winning several rounds outright along the way.

With just three owners and an odometer reading of 65,300 miles, the car has benefited from a programme of mechanical works at a cost of £10,000 that included an engine and gearbox rebuild. Paint correction works were also carried out at a cost of £1,000 and works to the electrics including re-wiring came to another £1,000. The car has travelled few miles since, due to the current owner's ill health, the reason for the regretful sale.

Offered with an MoT until July 2016, this 'on the button' Porsche is road registered and suitable for sprints, hill climbs, rallies and of course track days. At this guide price, and with race winning history, this car offers entry level Porsche competition opportunities for a fraction of the price of its contemporaries.

As well as the Competition Car Sale, Silverstone Auctions will also be holding two Classic Car sales at Race Retro this weekend. You can find out more about Silverstone Auctions and their forthcoming auctions here.
