Sim Racing Season 8

Season 8 Review and Winnners!

What an amazing end to Season 8 of the PCGB sim racing series. Both the AM and PRO championships went down to the last few laps of the final race of the season in a cliffhanging, nail biting end to both championships on home soil at Silverstone.

This season was a different approach, with the PRO class driving the 963 GTP and AM driving the 992 GT3R. All cars were on track at the same time, which made for exciting and enjoyable action. In the closest end to a season for both PRO and AM classes in the entire running of the PCGB sim racing championships, the excitement was mounting well before the last race reached its climax and the season champions were crowned. Many congratulations to our top three in both championships:

PRO class:
1st - Johnny Cullan
2nd – Christian Szaruta
3rd – Mark Baxter-Jones

AM class:
1st - Drew Fletcher
2nd - Oliver Carwardine
3rd - Heinz Meyer

In addition, the Commentators’ awards went to Rob Miller (PRO) and Heinz Meyer (AM); the Clean Driver awards (new this season and aimed at encouraging respectful racing) went to Byron Crawford (PRO) and Kim Sutch (AM); and, finally, the Spirit of the Championship awards (as voted for by the drivers) went to Paul Goffin (PRO) and Oliver Carwardine (AM).  Many congratulations to all of our award winners and to all drivers who took part and made this championship so exciting and possible.  Our fantastic sponsors also made the championships and awards possible, and we are extremely grateful to:

Porsche Club GB
Porsche Centre Chester
Mydas Simulations
Derbyshire Holiday Homes

All of the races are broadcast live by Racespot TV and are available to watch on their YouTube channel at ‘PCGB Sim Series’; the ever professional commentary from the commentating team always makes things come alive with top punditry and an injection of effervescent humour.
What a fantastic season - if you’d like to join in the fun in Season 9 (which is currently being planned), we are always open to new drivers joining us, so please do join our “digital paddock” on the PCGB sim racing discord and feel free to contact either of the Organisers; Paul Goffin or Andy Shepherd through the Discord channel.
