Simon’s mother learnt to drive in a Jeep at the age of 7 in a field, and his father rallied Minis in the 1960s before coming home in a selection of police V6 Capris, Granada’s, and V8 Rovers. With only 3 TV channels to watch, this continuous exposure, like Gamma rays or radioactive spiders… altered his DNA … Since then he’s spent the last 40 years driving an A-Z of vehicles … from AC to Bentley, Porsche, TVR…and Zastava…!

Simon worked as a police pursuit driver, and motorcyclist in the 1980s and 90s during the joy riding epidemic, and then 20 years as a Detective in the UK and Europe alongside his freelance driving work for multiple agencies. Since retirement he has coached multiple clients on road and track, and works with a leading defence Barrister specialising in traffic law offences.

He has worked with Porsche Cars GB, the Porsche Experience Centre, Mercedes-Benz World, and other manufacturers. He holds a competition license, competed in the UK Drift Championship at Clubman level (before he ran out of cash), been a Nürburgring instructor with clients over the last 30 years, and coached at Juha Kankunen's Driving Academy in Kuusamo.

Simon was part of the European HERMES Driver Coaching project and worked with Sir John Whitmore on business and driver projects. He has since coached police instructors, the Home Office Close Protection team, and current advanced driving instructors outside of the police framework (not pull push!), as well as private individuals who are keen to take driving to a new level. 
 
He is one of the Course Managers for The High-Performance Course and specialises in raising awareness on “Being the driver” ...what did you do, and what did the car do afterwards.. before offering the opportunity to change your approach.

In addition to qualifying as a police Advanced driver and rider, he is a RoSPA Examiner, ADI Grade A, Lantra 4x4 and ATV specialist, Ice Driving instructor, and is an assessor for the Specialist Driving Skills Agency.

Simon lives in Kent with his lovely wife Ruth, her lovely 911, Reg the cat, Odin the horse... and a TvR Tuscan called Trevor... 

He's an Aquarius...but only because he was born in February.....
