Martyn grew up in South Wales and was apparently steering the family car into the garage at the age of three – something he doesn’t remember, but doesn’t doubt. By seven, he was driving once he could reach the pedals, and at 17 he joined the Jim Russell Racing Drivers’ School at Silverstone, winning his very first Formula Ford race.

In his early twenties, Martyn became a driving instructor and worked in the emerging experienced driver training sector. Time spent at Boreham, Ford’s World Rally Headquarters, led to wider roles delivering automotive events. A near-fatal accident during an event in Seville proved pivotal, inspiring him to develop a world-first specialist GPS safety system for multi-language car launches – a project that ultimately returned him to Seville for its first live deployment.

Alongside running this business for two decades, Martyn continued his high-performance driver training activities. Known for using humour and relatable analogies, his coaching style is relaxed yet thought-provoking, with fun and safety always the priority. He remains deeply passionate about road safety and helping drivers get the very best from themselves and their cars, particularly on the challenging roads of Wales.
