MB over in USA buying and fettling a 924, including a clean and modification of the idle control valve to make it adjustable without removal from the car, also modification of both ends of the gear linkage to make the gearshift far more precise and short shift - those mods look tricky! Lovely 1977 (IIRC) car in GR, they also did loads to the interior, looked showroom fresh when ready for sale, he asked $12995 for it, only 1 punter interested, offered him $8k, MB was prepared to talk $10k but punter not interested!!

No doubt program will be repeated (and available now on catch-up).

Just caught up with this and makes for good viewing.

They got quite technical with the engine removal, clutch change and gear change improvement plus the warm up regulator mod all done seemingly to a high standard. Flipping bangers on blaze also did a 924 to a 'less perfect' standard.

Over on 968uk Waylander described his gear change improvement as a major bodge-up. He's done a lot of work sorting the gear change on 968's and is a time served car mechanic (which I'm not) so I defer to his knowledge and comments. "the gearshift was butchery of the fist degree, and they did not change the worn out nylon bush"

That gearchange mod was totally unnecessary and an unpleasant bit of engineering, plenty of better ways to improve the gearchange, not sure where this nylon bush your mechanic is referring to on an n/a, but changing worn out parts makes a vast improvement.
