Fluttering noise on over-run

What it says really, driving with the windows down and air con off, I can hear a fluttering noise on the over-run. Any ideas what it might be and is it a cause for concern?

David

Hi David,
Hope you are well.
Does the noise disappear when the windows are up? If so it may just be air buffeting.
If it's a mechanical sound, it could possibly be a faulty transmission transfer box. It has been known for surface water to enter through the breather eventually causing failure.
Hopefully it's the former! [;)]

Clive

Thanks Clive, all good here.

Sounds like I'd better take it to PC Nottingham and get it checked out. Oh well, another trip to see the sparkly cars. I'm sure that I won't be distracted, .... much.

Something associated with the turbo David? - a sticking valve perhaps? As you say, it probably means a trip to the PC.
