Body Shop Recommendations

Following a collision with a suicidal black cat on a "chicken run" resulting in n/s front damage to the PU, grille and air ducting of my Cayman, I'm looking for a body repair shop with Porsche experience in the North Beds/Northants area.

I'm aware that Elite Motors in Northampton are Porsche recommended, and any positive comments on them and other repairers would be much appreciated. To avoid infringing forum rules, you can PM me with any bad experiences too!

Cheers,

Jeff

Jeff - sorry to hear of your altercation with the kamikaze cat [&:]
Might be able to suggest something when I see you at JZM?

Thanks chaps.

Joe, I think the post was deleted swiftly by the administrators because its negative contents infringed forum rules, although I received it via email notification. As you say, not a shining endorsement for Elite, but hopefully a one-off and a lesson for them to get their house in order. They should have plenty of experience refurbishing front PUs since I believe they do all the preparation work for the Silverstone Centre's used cars.

Paul, looks as though it's going to have to be the Golf for the JZM visit - fingers crossed it passes its MOT next week..!

That's a shame about the deletion. Www.911uk.com is very happy to publish factual accounts of service good and bad. Good luck finding somewhere.

Many thanks for that suggestion Guy - I'll give it consideration.

FYI Joe, PCGB Forum Rules state:

[FONT=verdana,geneva"]1.4 We are advised that, if damages were sought in law for injurious posts, not only the original poster but[FONT=verdana, geneva"][FONT=verdana, geneva"]the system provider, Club, Forum Moderators and Admin could be at risk. The Club will not accept such[FONT=verdana, geneva"][FONT=verdana, geneva"]exposure, nor considers it acceptable for the Forum Admin and Moderators to be put at personal risk. As[FONT=verdana, geneva"][FONT=verdana, geneva"]we do not have the resource to establish if potentially libellous posts are true, or otherwise, any post[FONT=verdana, geneva"][FONT=verdana, geneva"]which may be considered injurious will be deleted without warning.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

In other words, praise and recommendations for good service are deemed acceptable but criticism isn't. A bit unfair really, but rules are rules. Presumably 911UK has deeper legal pockets and is prepared to take on the risk.

Jeff, did you receive my PM?
I sent it from my phone & left a response on the forum but it doesn't appear to be here!
Will explain in more detail at club night if you are there.....

Further to the above, there appear to be 2 separate posts on this...... my response is on the other one [;)]

Yes, many thanks Paul.

Although there are quite a few potential repairers local to me, I thought that I'd try to spread the net to Cambs and Northants; hence my duplicated posts.

I was a bit confused by your message but no doubt all will become clear on Wednesday. See you then.

Enjoy the great Bank Holiday weather..!

Jeff

Golf or whatever, will be good to see you there, Jeff... hope you can sort your Cayman out.
