Tyres for GT2

The Pilot Cup tyres on my GT2 will soon need replacing. Although they perform superbly (especially on track), the road noise level in the car on anything other than smooth road surfaces is almost intolerable.
Are Pilot Sport CUP 2 any better with regard road noise ?
Has anyone tried Supersports on GT2 (I know that they are not N rated and the label shows a higher Db level but that not necessarily means the cabin noise is higher).
Any feedback much appreciated.

In a 981 Cayman with mostly solid bush suspension tyre and road noise is quite loud with Cup2. I don't recall Michelin Pilot Super Sports (MPSS) being quite so noisy but I haven't used them for over a year so maybe memories fade. I had MPSS on a 997 GTS and they were not noisy.

You'll enjoy the extra grip of Cup2s

Similar question, for a 997 GTS. Michelin have, I think, discontinued the SS in favour of the PS4 - which are not yet listed in the 235/3519 and 305/3019 for the GTS, which may leave just the Pilot Sport Cup. Anyone have any other information?

As a former 997 GT2 owner, I would agree with Ralph - go for Cup2's. No tyre is going to provide an acceptable level of road noise in a GT2 due to its chassis setup.

The alternative is to chop it in for a Turbo/Turbo S, but even they are firmly sprung with significant road noise - and the GT2 is a much better car!

It may be of some comfort to learn even the latest 991.2 Turbo S is too noisy, but it's a small price to pay for that earth-shattering performance. [:)]

Clive
