2005 987 Boxster S for Sale - Engine Rebuilt with new IMS, RMS, etc
This 2005 3.2S is a particularly nice colour combination of Atlas Grey with black convertible top and black leather, it also has the Tiptronic S gear box which works perfectly in Auto or Tip mode. I use the car for commuting to work a couple of times a week to Reading or Birmingham and it suits that well, however if you want to hit the B roads the Tip buttons work perfectly and you can get the engine over 4k revs and hear the wonderful 3.2 S sound just behind your ears.

It has the Boxster S 18" Lobster Claw alloys currently on the car with nearly new Continental Conti Sport N rated on the front and the same on the rear however the rears may need replacing in approximately 5k..they didn’t show as advisories on the last MOT. I do also have a good set of 18” Cayman S alloys available as well if interested. The Cayman S wheels are in good condition and have good Bridgestone N rated tyres with about 5-6mm left all round, I was thinking of changing them over when the rears needed replacing. If I get my asking price I will include the Cayman S wheels and tyres as part of the deal.

The car also has heated Sports Seats (very comfortable), climate control air conditioning, Bose package with Sub-woofer and CD player with changer, plus all the other S enhancements including red callipers, silver dials and wind deflector. Last week I had the standard steering wheel recovered in dark grey Alacantra with red stitching, this was done by Royal steering wheel and looks and feels great. The car also has a 987 cherished number plate which I will transfer off the car, I would be open to offers though if the potential buyer is interested in keeping it on the car

The car was registered in May 2005 with 4 previous keepers when I purchased it from a local chap in Swanage in Sept 2017,I sold my 996 Targa the previous day and lasted less than 24 hours before buying another Porsche. The chap had the car since 2008 but had decided to sell it as he had bought another vehicle

The car has a full service history at Porsche and then various independents, however since September I have had an oil and filter change before the winter and then an oil and filter plus air and pollen just last week. This also included a full inspection of the car. The paint and body work is great condition, there are some minor stone chips at the front but it hasn’t bothered me so I’ve left that as a nice to have but not an imminent fix. There is also a couple of small marks on the rear bumper but again , I left that as a nice to have but not an imminent fix
The next service is not due for another 6k miles or 12 months, I tend to change the oil at 6k regardless of what Porsche suggest, I have done the same with all my other 911’s over the past 18 years of Porsche ownership. The car is currently at 67,959 miles and the MOT runs out on the 27th Nov 2018..last MOT had no advisories

The reason I purchased this specific car is that at approximately 59k miles the car had an engine rebuild at the very well respected Porsche specialist Marque 21 in Bridport. This included the later stronger IMS bearing and shaft, later stronger RMS, low temperature thermostat and many other gaskets, hoses and seals. The engine also had the manifolds removed and the bolts replaced so there should be no issues later on with those. The total cost was in the region of £9k…this should assure stress free motoring for the foreseeable future. I have a video of the engine running which I took last week when the engine covers were off, happy to send over. I’ve also a video of the roof mechanism working perfectly, again happy to send over. The car lives in my garage under a cover when not in use, and is kept attached to a Cetek charger via the cigarette lighter, this set ups works well and ensure the battery stays in condition even in the winter.

All manuals, leather folder, service book & second key are present and it is ready to go for the summer and enjoy

I’m in Dorset but travel with work around the south east so can be flexible if you would like to view, we also have a holiday let studio in our thatched cottage so if you fancy coming down to Purbecks for an evening away (Lulworth Cove/Durdle Door 5 mins away) then you could kill two birds as they say ! I know what these early 987 Boxster S versions are going for but this one has the advantage of having peace of mind that the IMS and RMS potential issues have been addressed. I am asking a very reasonable £11,250 If I can reach this I will include the Cayman S alloys and tyres which are worth £700 alone.

Initial contact via PM please, happy to answer any questions

Would suggest you change the heading to Engine Rebuilt rather than Engine Rebuild as it may suggest it needs a Rebuild

Nice car

For Sale

I have a 2005 3.2 S with engine rebuild at Marque 21 in Bridport 5k miles ago, new IMS, RMS, low temp thermostat and lots of other bits at a cost of £9k to the previous owner

Atlas Grey with Black leather heated sports seats and Bose

I have an oil and filter service in October and I’ve just done another oil, air and pollen plus inspection all round last week. Has long MOT with no advisories

67k Miles

Just fitted an Alcantara steering wheel last week, looks great

I’ve a set of Cayman S alloys in great condition with Bridgestone N rated with 5_6 mm also into the bargain if they are wanted.

It’s also got a 987 cherished plate that I’m may include if the price is right, worth £500.

I sold my 996 Targa last Sept and bought the Boxster from a local guy in Swanage. Problem now I’d I’ve seen a 996 today that I fancy so the Boxster will be surplus as I’m not allowed two Porsche’s

It was raining here today so couldn’t take any photos

Please PM me if you would like to talk and I'll post you some photos.
