On some occasions the transmission only switches from 1st to 2nd gear reluctantly and having hung on to
significantly higher revs than normal. Transmission is in D, normal temperatures and traffic conditions. The car is a 2 litre, new, and has now done 1,000 miles, and so far am driving it fairly moderately.
My local PC say the gearbox is still learning (!) but they are going to do a re-set.

Hi J, This happened to me on one occasion, in August last year. From standing start, gentle pull away, revs well over 3000, no change up. Tried the up paddle, without success. I slowed down and then tried accelerating again, and it was then ok. Some two weeks later, returning home, I took it to the supplying dealer. They checked it over and couldn't find any fault. But said after two weeks the engine management system, will have cleared its memory. And informed me to take it straight away to them or another dealer, should it happen again, while the event will still be in the memory. But it has not happened again, to date.
Regards Frank

Yes, happened to me too, from cold and on a very cold morning. Mentioned to the PC, but didn't get any feedback and assumed it was an intermittent transmission oil occurrence with this model. [&:]

The Macan has just come back from my local PC. No faults found in the system, gearbox re-set. I have been warned the gear change hesitation may happen again as the gearbox re-learns my driving style (!). Time will tell.

Several months now and the gearbox is working fine.
