997 C2S Full Closure of Windows & Sunroof?

Hi folks.....first post after buying my 997 C2S :) I'm coming from a BMW 328i with full closure feature (windows and sunroof automatically close when locking the car from the keyfob). Is this possible with the C2S and if so how is it done? Thanks :)

Hi! And welcome to Porsche ownership!

OK there's two ways -
One is to lock the car with the key in the door lock and holding it in the 'lock' position.
The second - and far easier way - is to press and hold the 'lock / unlock' button on the key itself holding the 'lock / unlock' button down until the windows and / or the sunroof have fully closed. Much the same as you press and hold the secondary button to unlock the bonnet

Aaargh this trick doesn't work on my car for some reason?? Full closure doesn't work from the key fob or the door lock :( ....I can get the windows to open from the door lock on opening but then can't get them to close ......Any ideas? Thanks

If none of the windows or roof are working would there be a controller or something in the electrical system which is faulty? Do they work opening and closing door normally or do the windows always stay down a bit?

some of the guys with more experience with cab may know of this issue?

Thanks for your reply Ian.....so just to clarify, both windows and sunroof are functioning when ignition is on...i just cant get the full closure function to work from either the key fob or door lock when leaving the car?? Also just to clarify my car is a 997.1 Coupe not cab.

Also as a side note, the one touch window open/close function isn't working on either window....anyone know how to fix this also? :-/

Cheers
Mike :)

Hmm, two thoughts.
One - If the 'one shot' feature works fine, it could mean that the closure function has been turned 'off' by a dealer somewhere in the cars past, or
Two - If your car has Sports Chrono it might be that the previous owner turned it off as I think it can be customised in one of the sub-menus.

Ah - just seen your comment re the 'one shot' feature not working. This suggests that a battery change in the cars recent past wasn't done properly, so you might need to disconnect the battery for a short while then reconnect to reinitiate the system affected. There's a section in the manual which deals with this on page 297.

Thanks StiG.....can i ask which manual you are referring to? My Driver's manual only goes up to page 232 and my PCM manual only goes up to page 209?? :-/
My car does have the Sports Chrono option, so i'll have a little look in the software to see if i can find anything relating to window closure. Would be great to get the "one touch" window switching working too if possible...i've heard they can be a bit hit and miss to fix??
Cheers

Mike,

If your one-touch window operation isn't functioning, try resetting the stops. Close the door and turn on the ignition. Press the window button down until the window goes all the way down, then release and press it down one more time. Then pull the button up until the window is all the way up, then release and pull it up one more time. Hopefully that should do it.

Thanks Jeff....this trick seems to have fixed the passenger window but no luck with the drivers side :( Any other ideas?? Cheers

Rats..! You could try again Mike - just make sure that you hold the switch for a few seconds before releasing.

If that doesn't work, maybe the window module is faulty and you'll have to run some diagnostics to see if there are any error messages. A decent Indie should be able to help and also check the menu set-up for you.

I'm only 2 weeks into ownership of my C2S so I thought I should try this. Inside, the 1 shot opening works on both windows but 1 shot closing only works on drivers side (I'll try the reset and see if it makes a difference). From outside - if I press and hold the lock button on the key it opens both windows! No matter what I try I can't close them again with the key, I'll go and have a play I think . . . .

i have the same issue with the windows (997.1 C4S). I took it to my OPC who says that on the passenger side the ‘auto-up’ only works from half way up, and ‘they are all like that’ - which struck me as odd, and daft.

But if I lift the passenger window but by bit until half way up, it will then do a ‘one-touch’ for the rest of the way.

Drivers sude is ‘one-touch’ up and down.

Hiya - Sorry! I was using my eManual rather than the real thing. It's under 'Practical Tips, Emergency Service > Electrical System'

That sounds like a typical pat answer from your PC Rich. I can't see the logic in it (unless it's been programmed to do so), and Mike says that he's now got the passenger side window working.
