As mentioned at last night’s meeting, B’ Modern Classics are hosting an open day on a Sunday the 6th of May.

I’m aware that this clashes with the run that Mark Duffy has organised but it does go on all day until 5pm so those looking to make the most of the Bank Holiday Sunday could do a lot worse than popping in on their way back.

B’ Modern have done the bare metal restoration on my 944 Turbo and are currently completing the same on a 964 Cab and 964 Coupe. The owner, Justin, drives a 996 has been a club member in the past and is either now again or will be in the next few days!

Their website (with address) is here: http://www.bmodernclassics.co.uk/

The details for the day are here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1644264405649466/?ti=icl

Runs from 10am until 5pm, Box Social Brewing are on the same courtyard and will have their microbrewery and pub open for business, Wylam Brewery‘s Battle of the Burger stars “Meat Stack” will also be in attendance too.

The only two caveats I could add are:

1) Justin has requested that any cars arriving stop at the main gates and wait to be escorted in as the parking area will be ”live” with families, etc. in attendance.

2) I went last year and had a good poke about some of the cars they had worked on and a good chat with the staff - I subsequently changed from a quick patch up elsewhere to a full restoration with them - if you ask for an honest appraisal of your bodywork, you’ll get one, warts and all!

For those unable to make it, Justin has very kindly agreed to put on an open evening for the club during the summer months too, date TBC.
