Check engine light illuminated

Hi all, the other day my check engine light illuminated on the dash while driving to work, on the way home I took it steady as the light was still lit up. Last year I took it into Porsche centre Cambridge with the same issue, they plugged the car in but could not find any fault code. There Has been a noise coming from the cats which sounds like a ticking almost typewriter noise for a couple of years now, but the car runs absolutely brilliant & im not too concerned about anything untoward, it needs a minor service soon so I will get the two jobs done together, any thoughts?

If the light is on a PIWIS or Duramatic will tell you what flagged it and reset it if it can. My turbo has flashed the CEL for a second a few times over the years. Loss of power when light is on as it normally goes into limp mode with 0.4 bar boost max. I never managed to find the problem as the light went out so quickly and the DME didnt log anything.

Typewriter? Sounds like tappets, the exhaust ones can be noisy until the oil heats up and fills them all up, quite normal.
