Independent Garages

Good afternoon,
Recently joined Porsche Club having purchased a Cayenne S Diesel. I Live in Colwyn Bay and hopefully get to one of the forthcoming North Wales Meetings.
In the meantime, after some advice if this is ok. Just had MOT done at Porsche Chester and although passed recommended to change Brake Pads and Discs with 4mm front and 2mm rear left on pads. Generally happy to use Porsche but quote seems high and wondered if anyone could recommend a good independent in the area. Already spoken with Tech9 but thought I'd ask if any other members had a recommendation.
Many thanks

Gareth

Hi Gareth

I also live in Colwyn bay, however there are no Porsche Indies in this area. I take my car to Strasse in Leeds who are one of the top indies in the country. Their service is excellent and very competitive.
However they are 115 miles away, but it is motorway all the way and I normally do it in about 90 minutes.

Hi Brendan,
Thanks for the advice, will give them a call.
Recognise your car, think you live round the corner to me!! I've just had Black Cayenne S Diesel.
Regards
Gareth

HI WElcome to the Club
I always say get a Quote from a Porsche Centre which you have done
AS a member you will get 10% discount from Porsche Centre , may help
There is a good place in Telford but that might be too far away
Check with them that you actually need Discs as well as the pads. the rear do need doing soon but the front will last some time

Changing the pads only is so easy you could do it yourself. I am sure there is no need to go to Leeds

Amazed there are no specialists in North Wales. May be go to next meeting and have a chat with other member

The Specialists at Porsche do tend to err on the Safe side (As do all dealers)
