Hi,

Was intending on posting a 'hi new member' but...

I purchased my 2015 base Cayman a couple of weeks ago. Really happy with it but experienced my first hitch this afternoon.
Whilst showing the car to the father in law I manually raised the spoiler, now it wont retract as far down as it did before and isn't sitting flush with the lights - pic attached.
Any ideas?

thanks

Tom

Have you tried taking it back up? I don't know if your spoiler works the same as my model but I have to keep my finger on the button to retract it fully. Is there an object in the way? Is it somehow catching the light clusters?

I am sure someone on the site will have an answer for you.

Regards

Ray

Thanks Ray, yeah I've tried cycling it a couple of times, and yes you have to hold the button till it completes the retraction on mine too. Nothing obvious catching and no odd sounds that would suggest that. The only thing I haven't tried is bringing it up to speed for it to auto deploy and then see if it retracts properly

That was going to be my next suggestion but it does mean having to drive the vehicle which you should not have to do to retract the spoiler.

I had exactlybthe same problem when the car was less than a year old. I could gently push it fully 'home' but it would otherwise stay about 5mm raised. The OPC claimed it wasn't an adjustment issue and ordered a complete new motor assembly. I didn't mind as it was a warranty job but I'd not be happy if I was paying the bill.

from my limited experience, this is a common problem, albeit that yours does seem to be a little bit higher than 'normal'

had mine adjusted by opc, but to be honest, it did not change much, mine seats with about 9-10mm gap, just inline with the top of the lights.

I would say that there is a problem in your case, much too much gap. sorry but not sure what the problem could be.
