My Insurance renewal with Marsh

It has been already nearly 12 months with my GTS, just received my renewal through from Marsh for my 2017 Carrera GTS, more or less the same price as last year. I was an existing customer with Porsche Insurance for years.
[:)]£269.38 including NCD protection, 12000 miles for name drivers for myself and the MRS.
They stipulate that I still have the tracker active which Vodafone charge £230?
There is also an excess of £450 on a claim

I don't do track days, so I am pleased with the quote. [:)]

That really sounds pretty good.
I have a 987.1 Boxster and my premium is £300 including RAC breakdown, protected NCD, £400xs based on 8k p.a.
(I know the RAC worked out about +£50)

Could be worth me trying Marsh in Autumn

I'm always amazed at some of the prices for 911 insurance that I see. [8D]

Just received my annual renewal quote from LVL on a 997.2 C2. It is £240; with protected NCD, overseas travel and 7k annual mileage.
Surprisingly it is less than last year which makes a change. In previous years the renewal quote has been annoyingly higher than the comparison site quote for the same company, which meant I had to take out a new policy, perhaps the insurance companies are realising we can use the internet to compare quotes.
I have not had to make a claim but can recommend LVL for customer service.

Very good. Mine is a little more than that. [&:] I am with Manning UK. They currently insure my 2017 Panamera 4 and I've been really impressed with their professional and efficient service. For example, when I've swapped my registration number, they've responded in minutes with a new schedule. They are going to cover my incoming new Carrera T for 18,000 miles a year, no need for a tracker and including some track day cover too.

Seems very fair, I'll definitely consider Marsh come renewal time.

I went with Direct Line for my recently purchased 2012 C2S. £377.44, no stipulation for the VTS Tracker (although I activated it anyway for my own peace of mind), £850 excess.

My take on this is that if you're not bothered about track days the mainstream insurers are the ones to consider.

If you are not already with Marsh they won't take you and you will be passed on to Carbon Brokers instead. Last year everyone who was insured through Porsche Insurance Services for less than 6 years or so were farmed out to Carbon. The cover is not as good....

Not quite correct, Alan. Marsh (0345 600 6502) no longer operate the Porsche scheme, but will still provide insurance quotations for Porsche owners.

Clive

Ok. But why didn't they do that instead of passing PIS clients on to Carbon? I think the OP is referring to the old Porsche Insurance Services we know and love!

I am with Marsh but just got them to quote for a 991 Turbo. They would not do it without a tracker. Went to Admiral, they don’t want a tracker and quoted about the same as Marsh with one.
worth giving them a try. Not sure what they say about track days.

Damn, Im nearly just over 400 on the C4S (garaged, protected NCD and 5k a year), and thats on top of the 380 I pay on the A3. (which covers business travel). Supposedly on the Admiral multicar policy. Maybe I need to look around quite a bit more.

Admiral say you can use a non approved repairer for a possible excess, when I looked for mine it was £0??. They don’t do trackdays though
they have quoted £543 for a 991.1 Turbo, garaged, 9k miles with wife and 38yr old son, no tracker. I’m well pleased. Marsh wanted 600+ plus tracker on top.
yeh, if not too late show around.

I was forced to switch from Marsh to Carbon and although my 991.2 C4 GTS renewed at a similar cost to when I was with Marsh, the excess increased to £750, no two "free” track days and reduced levels of personal accident cover. To get a quote for a new 718 Boxster for my wife I was directed by Carbon to the new PIS web site but the price quoted was far more than my GTS so I think PIS have lost the plot and we will be looking elsewhere.

Who did you go with for the insurance on the Boxster then BigCat.
It looks like your post has been edited, as I got a different post notification on the email. £480 you say?

I must thank the original poster here. I was with Lockton and on renewal end of March, they quoted me £850 on the Targa. So I tried Marsh. They placed with Aviva and it came down to £515. I then tried LV...I know....Well to my total surprise dropped to £345. Pays to shop around. Lockton told me I was heavily discounted. Earlier this year switched to Aviva on the Macan which came in at £250. That was with Direct Line.

My renewal is due next month.
2017 991 Turbo S in EX postcode, 7k miles pa, spouse and son named drivers, garaged, euro and legal cover, protected full no claims
Lockton - £1,726
Porsche Ins - £1,686
Carbon - no return call.
Marsh - £632
NFU - £504 (not including £116 multi-car discount).
Regards,

Clive

Not surprised at NFU being best quote Clive, I'm with them and very happy with £300 for my 991.2 GTS, no tracker needed either.

No-one has mentioned agreed value as part of their policy. I have agreed value from Hiscox through AIB Insurance Services but as I have posted elsewhere I am paying £1200 for 5k miles, fully comp any vehicle and all the usual other features. Lockton came in a few quid less. Why so dear?

Agree with the post above.
Some remarkable quotes there, however have you considered the 'value' you would receive if your car was written off! would you be able to replace your current car (like for like, condition, mileage, etc) if your insurance company were to only pay out the market value! Very difficult to contest an agreed value if this hasn't been factored in before hand.
