Cabin switch is not activating the rear spoiler

I have a 1996 993. the  cabin switch is not activating the rear spoiler.
It deploys on the road at 50 mph.
I have checked the continuity of the switch, which is fine.
Has anyone experienced a similar problem.

    Hi John
Just to be clear, are you saying the spoiler is driven up at the stated speed, and lowers at 15 mph or so, but will not actuate from the manual switch on the centre console ? With ignition on and stationary ?
If so, there can't be too much wrong. I would suggest checking the wiring and connections at the console, and the correct operation of the manual switch at the spoiler control unit pins 9,10,11. 11 is the common.
    Hope this helps, cheers, Maurice
