Boxster 987 uneven wear on new disc

Wbarnes

I have just changed the rear disc on my Boxster, but as the brake pads have good depth remaining, have not replaced them.
After driving the car to test them I have noticed that the pads are only making contact on the outer and inner edges of disc, and not making contact with the whole surface.
What have I done wrong?
Has anyone had this problem

Winston

Probably because the old pads wore to the old disc.
Probably worth changing both at that time. i guess the pad will eventually wear into the new disc.

Thank you for your reply/ comments, I've only driven the car one since changing the disc.
I'm going take it for a short drive just to see if the do bed-in.. if there is no improvement then I will fit new pads.
