Patrick Henson is going to the Oulton Park RS track day on Friday 9th of March (as previously mentioned in an email I sent out a few days ago) and has invited anyone else who would like to go to tag along, please see below in his own words.

I will start by admitting that I have never been to a track day, so this will be a new experience for me. I will be going purely to spectate and it seemed a good idea to see if anyone else wanted to join me and possibly make up a bit of a drive out to the event. I am assured by the 993 Register Secretary that spectators are able to walk in the pit area and if you are a smooth talker, you may even get yourself a few laps in the passenger seat!!

My plan is to have two meeting points; Dobbies Garden Centre, where the A49 meets the A5 Shrewsbury bypass. We will depart from there at 9.00am. The second meeting point for those not coming from the Shropshire side of the region would be at Prees Heath, the A49 Truck Stop car park roundabout where the A41 meets the A49. This is about a mile before the start of the Whitchurch bypass. We will depart from there at 9.45 am. Anyone arriving after these departure times will have to make their own way to Oulton Park.

My plan is to arrive at Oulton Park around 10.30am. If you prefer to make your own way there then that will be fine.

The schedule of events is as follows:

TIMETABLE
07:30 Sign On
08:30 Briefing
09:00 Track Time Starts
13:00 Lunch Time
14:00 Track Time Resumes
17.00 Track Time Ends

Any other information is available at this link.

I plan to leave the circuit around 3.00pm but you can leave at any time to suit your own schedule.

I would be grateful if you could let me know if you intend to join me and at which point, together with a mobile phone number so that we can communicate on the day in the event of any problems.

If you are interested let myself or Phil know and we will forward your details on to Pat.
