Hi all!

We all love our German mean machines, but who doesn't love a classic English Aston Martin? Desmond J Smail of Olney http://www.djsmail.co.uk, a legend in the world of historic Astons has kindly agreed to open up his showroom at 13-19 High Street South, Olney, Bucks MK46 4AA and separate restoration workshops at 36 East Street, Olney MK46 4AP on Thursday 15th March, from 6.00pm. We will likely park and meet on Olney's Market Place.

On show will be a number of stunning Astons - if you bring your cheque book, you can spend over £1m on just one of them! - and I understand Desmond also has an impressive collection of memorabilia. The workshops are a short walk away from the showroom, and who knows what we will see in there, but it will be well worth the look! Desmond can't yet confirm his presence, because he is hoping for a last minute invitation to the Cheltenham Festival, but if he can attend, he has plenty of anecdotes to share!

The POTM itself is the Bull Hotel, 9 Market Place, Olney MH46 4EA, http://bullhotelolney.co.uk, which opened only last Saturday after its extensive renovation following a fire in 2016. You don't have to eat - there is a large bar as well as dining facilities - but check out the menu online. I will be reserving a space for us from around 7.30 pm, with more details to follow.

Please use this thread to book in for the Desmond J Smail visit, and/or whether you will be eating.

Mike Calvert has kindly offered his services in arranging the April POTM, but May and June, and beyond are still up for grabs. I will not be able to organise these next 2, nor possibly July, so for my piece of mind, please volunteer, and let me know. It need only be a pub outing if you like. The next few dates pencilled are 17th April, 23rd May and 19th June.

Happy motoring!

Thanks.
Mark
