MK Classic Car Tour – 80 miles, includes Millbrook Alpine Circuit, Sun. 8th April

Anyone fancy joining me and my daughter on this tour (last year it was over 80 miles) for vintage, classic and other cars through Beds, Bucks & Northants.? Starting at Poplars Garden Centre by M1 J12, highlights include a drive on the Alpine Circuit at Millbrook Proving Ground, a coffee/tea break at Holdenby House, with finish at the BRDC Clubhouse at Silverstone.

If you take the optional lunch in the Wing, from the balcony you will be able to watch the British Motor Cycle Racing Club 2018 Championships on the Grand Prix circuit.

It’s a charity event for the MK Hospital Neonatal Unit Little Lives Appeal which buys state-of-the-art medical equipment and other items that enhance the care of their tiniest patients. At £80 per car, driver and co-driver (plus £5 per extra passenger) plus an optional £20 per head for lunch, it’s not cheap, but you would be helping a very worthy cause.

The organisers prefer cars made before 2000, but last year two of us were in our 991s, alongside a friend’s 2015 Mustang – it’s a fund-raising event after all!

If you didn’t pick up a flyer and entry form at the last meeting at Sharnbrook, more information is available at http:www.autoclassicastorage.co.uk/mk-classic-car-tour-2018/.

Please let me know if you would like to enter, but you will need to apply for registration yourselves, using the form on the link above.

Cheers.
Mark

Sounds interesting. Always wanted to go round Millbrook and Poplars is only just down the road from me. Don't know if a 2012 Boxster is classic enough though.

Ok Joe, hope you can make it.. and Marc, like I said, we got in last year with 991s. I will be taking my 1984 3.2 Targa if it’s dry on the 8th April, otherwise, I hope they’ll accept my 991 GTS. Are you going to download the entry form and check the Boxster in? I don’t think they will turn down the £80!! Can you mention Porsche Club when you do register, and ask to be set off as part of the Porsche Club group? Thanks.
Mark

Hi Mark,

I have provisionally placed that on my calendar, like you say the charity is a worthwhile cause. Will you have forms with you at the next meet? not sure if you still had some spare from the last meeting? finally it sounds like they will accept cars post 2000 so that's promising.

Kind regards

Neil

That’s good Marc, hope you can make it.

Neil, if you get a minute, it might be worth downloading a form and registering because it can fill up - there will be a lot of cars! Fingers crossed that you will be accepted, but I think it will be ok, and did you see? - mention Porsche Club on the booking form.

Regards
Mark

Hi Mark,

Have emailed the organisers and hopefully they will accept my application, will let you know.

Kind regards

Neil

I have emailed the organisers and hoping they have space and will accept my application.

Hi Chaps
I will be joining the MK Classic on the 8th with my Boxster Spyder. After speaking with the organiser my application is in and cheque sent off.

See you all for breakfast.

Hi chaps,

You have a 4 minute head start on me :ROFLMAO:although my list shows you delayed for 4 minutes already, lol

Haha. Oh yes, I was nearly right!! Are you in a McLaren then? What time will you be there?...for breakfast?

I’m dead last, no179. (hope i don’t get
lost!) I counted 20 Porsche’s on the list. I should be there for breakfast at about7:45, and only 20min drive to the start for me.
Hope the weather is good to us.

Yes, planning to arrive for 8.15am sort of time in order to grab some breakfast.

I've sent my application/cheque for this event and chased the organisers by email but heard nothing. Guess I'll have to try and ring them but wondered where you got the list and timings from - was it by email?
Would be handy if someone could perhaps kindly email me a copy to macan@porscheclubgb.com I was also wondering what time to arrive?
Many thanks and regards,
Mike
