Does anybody in our club know a company or electricians that would be able to re-fit my original radio and amp back into my Carrera , I have been meaning to have this done for ages (about 10yrs) but never got round to it, I have the wiring from the amp to the radio (which a kind member gave me) I need someone good that knows these cars . I don't even know if it even works so it needs to tested first and whether or not its coded

I live in Milton Keynes area

Many thanks

Mike

Hi Mike
I finally got hold of a Toronto SQR46 for my 1988 Carrera, which has a disconnected amp underneath the drivers seat. My car had a modern Kenwood unit when I bought it, and I managed to get hold of an old Blaupunkt connector and rewire the back of the original Toronto to the main feed. Richard Hamilton was really helpful with wiring diagrams. I still need to find a cable and din connector to link the amp to the Toronto, as the end of the original DIN has been cut off at the head unit. So if anyone has a DIN lead, please let me know. I can send pictures of the connector if it helps.

It is very difficult to get hold of codes for very old units, and you can't use any of the cheap eBay or Web-based services, as the seriel number of very early radios are not covered. I went directly to Blaupunkt in Germany and they also couldn't help. But they recommended contacting a Blaupunkt service partner (see attachment), or an Bosch car service dealer in your near. They sent me this link to Bosch car services: http://www.boschcarservice.com

Another company that was hekpful and offered to recode for £45 is https://www.dndservices.co.uk/blaupunkt-toronto-sqr-46-dnd4250.html

I hope this all helps.

Gordon
