Service: OPC or Porsche specialist.

Do members favor servicing through local OPC or local Porsche specialist garage?
Would a 4 year service by either really affect an eventual resale value?

If you are intending to sell the car privately at some point I think it’s better with OPC stamps as private punters will be paranoid, but if you chop it in at an OPC I don’t think it really matters to them as long as the services have been done correctly.

I would not even consider looking at a non OPC serviced modern Porsche, but appreciate that some members believe that the Indy do just as a good a job on a plain service.
However for a 4 year service being a major, I'd expect it to be stamped by a OPC., knowing that all updated, checks and recalls would have been done. IMHO

As TS Captain I keep up the warranty and don't want the risk of some nit picking on a warranty claim if it has not been serviced by an OPC.

Unfortunately the local OPC labour charge is extortionate and Indies are almost one third the Porsche rate.

Which sort of confirms what I’m saying, sell it privately and some people will expect the OPC stamps regardless of how well the car has actually been serviced I real life, but if you sold or part exchanged at an OPC, they would sort out any recalls, the car would be checked and warrantied by themand to them as long as it had been serviced correctly it all comes down to the model, age, mileage and profit to them.

if you're not sure, default to OPC services, but any other work outside of services can be handled by a good independent imho.

My car has full OPC service history.
Any repairs/replacements required since I've had it have been carried out by Zentrum at Nottingham, all ex Porsche OPC boys, so they know their stuff.
Condensors, brakes, exhaust flange nuts.
I was quoted by Porsche for the Condensors - £1000, got them done for £500.
Exhaust flange nuts were corroded, quoted £300 and got them done for £120.

Come service time next Feb, I will be going the OPC route to keep the service history complete with Porsche.
Its £499 vs around £299 indie.
That £200 could be enough to put a private buyer off when the time comes to sell.

I know for a fact when I bought mine I only wanted full OPC history, thinking about future resale.
