Hi guys,

Is anyone interested in a visiting retired RAF aircraft Nimrod XV232 ( www.xv232.com ) at Baginton airfield, Coventry?

No date has been agreed yet but the aircraft is open on the first and third Saturday of each month. The aircraft carries out an engine ground run on the third Saturday...

Price will be £10 per car, including a tour of the aircraft and photographic opportunities.

Tea, coffee, cuppa soups may be purchased in the aircraft galley.

Food/drinks/meeting place is available just outside the airport gates at the Royal Oak pub. It has ample parking!

Please put me down for the visit. Prefer a 3rd Saturday when the engine runs. Perhaps a few of us can make a run of it from the Burford/Oxford area. Saturday 17 March looks good?

Yes like Steve, Saturday 17th March would suit us very well if that’s possible.
Mention of the Royal Oak bought back memories as I seem to remember spending to many evenings there while a very young technical apprentice with Rootes Group in the 60’s.
Ah happy days when under £5 would cover a good night out with the boys!

Unfortunately March 17th is unavailable. The next available engine run is May 19th. How does this suit?

Sorry but we will be in Scotland all that week.
We’ll try to fit in with the next suitable date, but June and July look busy for us at the moment.

Ian

Sorry but we also will likely be away. That's the weekend for the Anglesey track day and Porsches on the Prom at Llandudno which we hope to go to.
