NEED HELP!!! ECU and/or Ignition management issue.

Hi all,

My dad and I are restoring a 928 and using the engine, gearbox and electrics from different year models (don't ask why :). The engine had been rebuilt but the problem we're facing now is that we have no ignition whatsoever. Our mechanic is certain that there is either a problem with the ECU or with the electronic block that manages the injectors. We've purchased another used ECU on eBay but the problem still persists which means that either our mechanic is wrong or both the original and the purchased ECUs are faulty.

The ignition system is
BOSCH LH-JETRONIK
ECU part number 0 227 400 012 / 928.618.124.03

Now I'm looking for somewhere we can test these parts.

In particular, I was hoping to find someone who has a car with the same ignition system so we can plug the ECU and/or the injector management block in and see if it starts.
I'm happy to pay someone for their time and hassle with this with cash, beer, hugs or some other form of payment.

Alternatively, I would really appreciate an advise on where and how these parts can be tested.

Thanks a lot in advance, fellow Porsche owners.

Cheers

Got it tested at JDS, all in working condition. Could be a problem with wiring. Will keep you posted

Could be the sensor or the crank itself. They modified it when converted from automatic to manual transmission

Also, I'm sure you have, but make sure there are no bits of mickey mouse immobiliser/alarm system lurking on the car.

It might help if you say which model year the car and the donor are.
Definitely check that there is a signal from the crank position sensor.
You'll probably more replies from the 928UK email list.
