HI, I'm a fairly recent owner of a 968 Cabriolet and am about to fit new tyres. Does anyone know of a good/premium brand that provides for both front and rear - same pattern?

Thanks ,

John

Hi John,
I fitted Goodyear Efficientgrips front and rear of my 968 cab 2 1/2 years ago and am very happy with them. I wanted to get Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetrics as fitted to my MB S204 (C220) estate, but at that time Goodyear did not do them in 16" (MB is 17").
Over the years, between my previous 968 coupe and 6 years now of the cab, I've tried Yokohamas (original fit on the coupe, ggod grip but wore quickly), Contisports (hard and wore quickly), Bridgestones (were pretty good), Dunlop SP Sports, and these Goodyears are the best I've had.
I find the Tyreleader site (https://www.tyreleader.co.uk/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIp8_tsMf92AIVa77tCh13WgA6EAAYASAAEgJTmfD_BwE) useful as they give the EU ratings of the tyres on wet grip, economy and noise, they also show which tyres have the rim protect feature (about 1/4" of rubber proud of the rim).

I'm running Continental ContiSport 2s on mine in 17". The rears are N rated, but not the fronts.
I've stuck with the Contis as that was what was on the car when I bought it and I didn't want to mix brands as I never need both ends at the same time.
I find the grip to be good, but I think that they are quite noisy.

plenty of 17 tyres,

I have GT Radials and they have been great,

heres a few
Uniroyal Rainsport 3
dunlop sport max
Bridgestone

I have brand new Rainsports3 [shark technology lol] but was very suprised how really good they are in the rain after driving her over the Dec ,xmas.new year period when the roads were very wet,,
she encourages you to push it and the tyres work very well....jasonp

Bridgestone SO2's, N rated, on my cab. I've had two sets and they been excellent. Good grip (wet and dry), good life if you don't abuse them and a good discounted price if you buy on line from Blackcircles.
Cheers
Peter

Just bought a 944 the cam and balance belts were changed 5 years ago but the car has only done 2k miles in this time. Should I change the belt
