Hi All,

So its happened - I purchased a 2013 987 Gen 2 cayman 2.9 pdk last year which now has 30,000 miles on clock and the PDK gearbox has gone - you know, the ones which are meant to last at least 100,000 miles - never been on a track just normal driving

Has anybody got any contacts who can help with this as it is devastating!

David

Sorry to hear about your problem David.

You don't give the nature of your problem but I think that your first port of call will have to be a Porsche Centre, or maybe an appropriate Porsche Indy, to get a diagnostic check to determine if it's a mechanical problem or just software-related.

As far as I know the dealerships aren't allowed to strip the transmissions; they have to return them to Stuttgart for evaluation and replacement. Unfortunatley, I'm not aware that there are any transmission specialists capable of repairing the PDK 'box.

Let's hope that just a software reboot cures your problem.

Jeff

Very sorry to hear of this David, as Jeff says software problems are not unknown, I also had a problem caused by a defective temperature sensor, when they reach 6 years they need a flush and hydraulic fluid change.

You don't say whereabouts you are in the country but as I have seen upgraded parts available for sale I'm sure that there must be someone able to help, please come back and keep us up to date.
