Charity Ball in aid of Willen Hospice on the 27th May 2018

Hi,

At our R10 monthly meeting last Saturday I mentioned about a charity ball I have arranged in aid of Willen Hospice who cared for my wife. Unfortuantely she passed away last May after a short aggressive battle with cancer at the age of just 45. The level of compassion and dignity shown to my beautiful wife was staggering. Given 78% of their operating costs are covered by charitable donations left me thinking how can I help so that this service remains open to others in need as I don't believe hospital is the right place in certain circumstances.

I have attached a copy of the poster made which gives the majority of details requested should anyone be interested

I would like to understand if there is a contact within Porsche GB whereby I could approach them formally to enquire about a possible donation which could be raffled off in aid of the charity? advice welcome and apologies if this post is not in line with the forum policy, but I feel like the club is now part of my family (the reason why I joined following the passing of my wife).

I have posted within the club events section also for completeness.

Kind regards

Neil

Hi Neil,
As you know, I joined Porsche Club just over a year ago, also following the passing away of my wife from cancer. She was a little older, but tragically died on her 60th birthday.
I would have loved to support you with my presence, but I shall be at my sister-in-law’s 60th celebrations in Australia.
I will circulate details of your event amongst my non-PCGB contacts in the hope that there is some take up.
I wish you every success with it.
Best wishes.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the message it is appreciated. I think your friend has volunteered to help so that's great news already.

No doubt I will catch up with you prior to the event.

Kind regards

All,

So we still have tickets left for this amazing event, and some amazing prizes being raffled including IPAD's, Goodwood tickets, football tickets, signed Anthony Martial football shirt, 3 night break in an ice hotel, some Porsche goodies donated from PCGB and Porsche Reading and many more, so if you fancy a great night out then let me know.

Mark C from R10 has managed to secure 9 people to come, and I am sure we can gain more support, so I will wait for the forum to overload with responses.[;)]

Kind regards

Neil
