Sorry for late reply, got a bit sidetracked with birthdays and stuff. It's a 1990, rebuild by Dave Broughton. He's done all the recent work for me including new hood, oil pump, clutch, engine rebuild, god the list goes on, there's loads I've asked him do. Most of it was done the end of last year but it has crept into the beginning of this. Right now he's just replacing a rear wheel bearing, cabin fan and fixing an off track window, hope to get the car back tomorrow, yay!
It's my daily driver and has been for about 6 years. It's a great car and hasn't given me any trouble since owning it, including a 3,000 mile trip around Europe year before last (including Stelvio pass!). It just got to the point where I saved up enough pennies to take care of work that was due.
Maybe see you guys soon so I can show it off!
Next job is the interior, know where I can get some front seats reconditioned?

My 1st Porsche was a '93 Cab and it had been retrimmed by Southbound 6 months before I bought it. Not cheap.Garvin911 said:Next job is the interior, know where I can get some front seats reconditioned?

Depends where you live. You could post this question on your Region site and see what replies you get. Otherwise ask at an upmarket indy place and see what they recommend.
If you're a handy man you can restore them yourself if that's all they need. Allow a day per seat and about £30 for creams and dye if needed.
I can send you an article on how I restored a Club steering wheel. The same principles apply to any leather restoration.
I know some good guys just north of Birmingham who are very knowledgable and feature on TV occasionally Car SOS.

I’m thinking about completely changing the interior from black to tan. What do you think that might cost?
Garvin911 said:Thanks David, I’ll take a look at southbound. I need a bit more than some leather nourishment I fear. There’s a little stitching, broken drivers tilt release mechanism and generally old carpets.

I was under the impression that a complete interior retrim from Southbound runs to about £5K?
Garvin911 said:I like the idea of tan but I don't know if I like it that much. I guess it is a lot of work and really adds up.
Hey Colin, your 964 has got just a few more miles on it than mine! I hope I can get another 150k out of it
It's passed 160K now, still going strong (so far [8|])
