Tragic

Anyone had a look eBay recently at the used 996 offerings.
Some really hideous examples on there.
Stickers, spoilers, wheels etc.
They obviously have been too affordable at times.
Hopefully they disappear.

I guess that it’s all down to ‘in the eye of the beholder’. The same thing happens to 986 Boxsters, but there are still enough original examples of both models to go around. Some of the cars that get altered are probably at a point in their lives where no-one else is interested in them, perhaps due to condition and/or the cost of work that is required.

I spotted this decidedly personal take (with a less common interior colour) last year:

Shopping list for tomorrow:
Vinyl wrap
Fluffy dice
Spinners
Some blue lights
Dump valve
NOS stickers
Massive spoiler
Mirror window tint
Then fit it all in Macdonald's car park and treat the Misses to a MC meal.

Treat myself to some more tattoos, Celtic or Chinese.
Don't really care as long as I don't know what it says.
Get home take staff for a walk.

The 944s went through a similar disgrace, then suddenly prices went up and the rest is history.

For full effect you need to have a tattoo on your neck, proper classy! ??

Devil's advocate: How would RPM make CSRs and Singer make their classic interpretations, if modding wasn't "allowed"/tried?

The world would be boring without some individuality and tasteful mods can improve the car.

MJB's example is not one of those, mind.
