I have just seen the news that PCT Cars is going to cease trading next week. They have looked after my car for many years and now I am at a loss to know where to go. Do I take the car back into the Porsche Dealer network or can anyone else recommend a Midlands based specialist?
Thanks.

I have seen good reviews on these guys near Shirley and thinking might try them - Zuffenhaus, Houndsfield Ln, Birmingham B47 5QR.

Any background on PCT?

Have used Zuffenhaus and found them to be very impressive. The owner is a PCGB member, R9, and friendly too. Give them a try,you won't be disapointed .

Zuffenhause have serviced my Boxster 987, Paul and the team, helpful and friendly.

Own a 2.7 987, IMS bearing is always a concern, can anybody give advice as to any checks, or is it a trip to Dealer or Zuffenhause for some sort of inspection, just want to enjoy the car.

Suggest you consider Dove House in Rushden , just off A 45 . Tony Whitcombe is the service manager 01933 354144. He is Porsche trained as are his mechanics.

I’ll +1 for Kev Waterhouse at DW Performance in Wellingborough. Porsche trained and a lovely chap who couldn‘t be more helpful or transparent. I bring my 997.2 turbo up from London to get Kev to work on it. It’s well worth the two hour drive.

dont know the guy but thought some of you may be interested, taken from 911uk.

For those of you who are seeking an outstanding Independent Technician in the Coventry/ Midlands area to look after your "all things Porsche” then please consider using the services of Richard Harrison, formerly of PCT Cars, Coventry

Richard has recently set himself up as "PCT Select” and his currently trading out of;

Unit 5B, Runway Farm
Honiley Road
CV8 1NQ

Tel; 07966 962573 Mobile & 01676 533775 Landline

Richard is exceptionally knowledgeable & reliable and he is completely passionate about Porsche’s having worked on them for over 16 years.

Having dealt with him for a number years since I purchased my own 911, I wouldn’t have anyone else work on my car, and he certainly get a HUGE thumbs from me.

Just an update from this original post.
I finally got around to taking my car to Zuffenhaus this week for a full service including spark plug change and brake fluid change.
Paul and the team have been really helpful and before starting work did a thorough inspection of the car where they pointed out slight wear on the inner front tyres. Paul recommended having a full wheel alignment which I agreed with. The gear lever linkage also needed looking at as the shift had become very clunky with lots of play. They also carried out a few other jobs for me while it was there including replacing the gas strut on the engine cover.
Cannot fault the service I received.
Tonight has been the first chance I have had to take the car out for a real run. All I can say is that the car is transformed. Engine runs a lot smoother and pulls like a train through the gears, of which I cannot ever remember in the last 25 years the gear shift being so smooth.
The steering and handling after the wheel alignment is sublime. All in all it is like driving a totally different car.
Cannot recommend Zuffenhaus enough.
Thanks for letting me know about them.

I met Paul last Saturday on a car clinic day, gave the car a once over and pointed out a couple of things that need to be sorted.
as I’ve only had the car a few weeks I’ve booked in for a major plus service, can’t remember the lads name who looked at it but very knowledgable and both genuine guys.
