Clutch - Is this a record? Also Cable and Cable Ends

Well I've just changed the clutch assembly and found it is the original one from the factory in 1979, over 161,000 miles ago!
And it's still not down to the rivets. Modern clutches don't last anything like that long - no asbestos . . .
Pretty amazing though you did need a heavy left foot to operate it, hence the change.
All I need to do now is replace the other worn bits to make the gear change more positive.

I also replaced the clutch cable (maybe NLA now) and had to get the cable ends Part No. 803.721.339 made by a local machine shop, because they're NLA.

Of the original plastic ends, one had been replaced with a bodge and the other was half worn through, so it seemed wise to replace them. The new one is the lower of the two in the photo. The machine shop, which also makes motorbike parts, is happy to make these ends - PM me if you want their contact details.

I replac the clutch on my 80 lemans last year.

It had done 156,000 and was just starting to slip under heavy load.
