windscreen query

does anyone know if the 968 windscreen is the same physical size as a 944S2 ?
The replacement windscreen that NAt Windscreens delivered today was 3" shorter than my 89 S2 and was marked 944/968 ?? 1989 to 1992 apparently after exhaustive checking that was the screen they decided best matched my cars VIN ?

I can check PET, but I’m sure they are the same, except for the antenna, they certainly not 3 inches different

the national Windscreen guy had a book he called his 'bible' it listed about 8+ different windscreens for the 924 944 968 but most of the listings suggested a particular screen would fit 924 & 944 or 944 and 968 /

The screen that was delivered measured 3" less than my 944S2 screen and the label on the screen read 944/968 89 to 92

The Cabriolet probably would have a different windscreen to the 944 because of the soft top fixing and additional A post strengthening needed .

I cannot believe that nobody on this forum has gone through this issue and hasn't worked out which screens fit what cars . When I get to the bottom of this I'll post what I find to assist others in the future.
In the mean time NW are going to deliver 2x screens in the hope that one will fit !.....without a part number its very difficult for me to advise them

Cabriolet windscreen will be shorter than that of a coupe.

When i had mine replaced it was a simple matter of year, and coupe or cab, as the cab has a chopped windscreen. With the model and year there should be no issue, so perhaps it's just one fitter not knowing his own ordering system?

For the 968, a cabriolet screen fits a coupe, the only difference being that the cab screen has the aerial built in and the coupe does not. When Autoglass replaced the screen in my coupe 10 years ago they fitted a cab screen saying it was the only one available at the time!

On 944 there are 5 listed screens in the Porsche parts system
3 for Coupe
2 for Cab

they all have antennas as the 944 did not have a roof ant like the 968, all prices correct as of the 7th Nov and include VAT from Porsche parts Dept

944S2 and the 968 Have the same part numbers for glass
