Best battery for my '68 912?

Darjeeling

New member
Hi there. Could someone please help me to buy the best battery for my '68 912. I live in Kent not Alaska but some guidance around CCAs (45Ah??), longevity/power/warranty etc. I know to look for one that is relatively new, produced in the last 6 months and preferably maintenance free and obviously be the right dimensions but other than that, I'm clueless. Cheers Al

Hi Alan, sad that no one has replied to your posting perhaps I can help. I needed a battery for my 356C and found Lincon Batteries ltd, Faraday Works, 25/26 Faraday road, Leigh on Sea, Essex, SS9 5JU.
Phone number 01702 525374. They have a good website see :- Lincon batteries ltd or phone them, I found them helpful. They make the batteries at the works and can make specials should you wish them, I even got a discount on the old battery I returned to them when I collected the new one from their works.
I would suggest you should go for the largest capacity battery with a high cranking CCA that will fit into your car. (normally 12volt 45 Ampere hours) Good luck.

Cheers Robin. Much appreciated. I did feel a little Billy No Mates. To be fair, I'd given up on the forum, as I couldn't even find my own original post. I can't seem to figure out how to use the forum. It must be my age. So (simply) how does one find their post to see what replies they may or may not have? Beware... I might not find your answer:ROFLMAO:. I was only alerted to yours by email.

Hi Alan,

This might have been missed as these areas of the forum are not really used now (should be deleted!)

The best place to post is in the forum area for your own model, and if you don't get any replies the best thing is to pick up the phone to your Register Secretary. Sadly, the 912 forum isn't very busy at all, so perhaps it needs someone to post loads of questions to liven it up a bit! [:)]

You are welcome Alan, I had the same problem as you in finding your original post for my reply and agree with Paul that the 912 Register page would be the best for your postings.
Your original posting was in the "Latest Posts" section of the Forum which is where I found it.
Excuse me for the Bruce Forsythe-ism, Keeeeeep Driving !
