Fuchs Wheels Refurb

Hi all, I live in the North West and have searched on here for similar threads and only ones I find are from 2005 or 2006. Just wondered if anyone has any recommendations now for getting my Fuchs refinished. The painted centres are Ok, it is the polished rims that are the main problem (not sure if they could e done without the need for re-painting?).
Any thoughts or if anyone has had theirs done similarly I would appreciate it, ideally in the North West if possible??
Cheers Dave

There was a recent thread about this, but not sure if there was a conclusive answer.
Assuming you want the rims refinishing on your '89 Carrera 3.2, there will be people who can do them - to an extent - but not sure who, in the UK, can exactly match the original 'factory' finish.

Thanks for the link IndischRot, I will check them out, looks like just the finish I am looking for and have on my car now. Cheers Dave

Ok curve ball time
My Fuch's are in a desperate need of a refurb, they're soiled from the brake issues I had, tatty from 30 years use and they are really noticeable against my fresh paint.
But to Anodise a set of 4 Fuchs is over £1k with an estimated 2/3 weeks to complete the job, so I'm considering an interim non anodising refresh.
Exel wheels do a door to door service for around half the price. They are used by Lepson, several OPC's, Porcshe Torque, RPM, Virgin 911 just to name a few.
Longer term I'll source a spare set of Fuchs, a pair of 7's shouldn't be an issue, I have one spare 9 which i may sell to finance the purchase of a set of replicate 9's
So is this rationale thinking or madness?

I'd be interested to hear what you think of Excel Beaky, if you use them, struggling to keep my anodised finish looking good, at some point soon they'll need a refresh

Still looking at options, have a mate who may be able to get them done in Glasgow for me over the winter, just need to replace the wheels temporarily whilst it is in the garage. Will let you know how I get on and what I end up with.

Hi Dave, I'm not sure if you'd consider them but I have a set of replica Cup1 wheels I would sell if you wanted to run your car over the winter while yours are away being done.
Let me know & I'll send you details if you're interested.
Cheers.

Hi Kevin, that sounds good can you let me and all know how you get on?
Cheers
Dave

Hi Fleety, thanks but my mate has already offered me a set while the Fuchs are away, but thanks for the offer.
Cheers
Dave

Dropped them off this evening. Should be ready by the end of next week. Chris seems a very knowledgable bloke so I think they will be in good hands. Will post pics & a summery when I get them back :)

Hi Dave. They cost £520 all in to do. Great service & Chris is a very knowledgable bloke on all things Porsche.

Thanks Kevin, that sounds like very good value. I will google them and contact Chris about mine as well.
Cheers Dave

Had mine done by Nick Moss at www.early911.co.uk
A bit on the slow side but the result was stunning. Nick specialises in Fuch restoration and certainly knows his finishes to match to the right model.

Worth a look at his website
