Broken aircon switch

Does anyone know? Got a broken switch on one of my 968s aircon. It won't stay locked on. Being told it is only possible to get as a whole unit, the switch isn't available separately. Cost maybe £790 plus VAT. And more than likely a tiny piece of plastic in the switch is broken. Wondering if anyone has any knowledge or can source the part. Thanks much!

Mark,

You'll need to check this, but I came across the same problem a few years ago, and i can't remember all of the details. The newer heater control units had replaceable push-fit switches, earlier ones have switches that less easily replaced, they are soldered onto the board. You have the later unit. You might be lucky and find the button for sale (OPC? - you could be pleasantly surprised) or a controller that is broken, but has an okay button.

But, you can also get a used control unit for less than £200 from one of the regular breakers. The older units are interchangeable with newer cars so there should be no compatibility issues.

I believe you have the 944 653 021 04 for M573, aircon control unit fitted.

Good luck.

Paul
