My First Porsche!

Hello! I recently purchased a Cayman 987 Gen II & I'm really enjoying the ownership experience. I'm looking forward to the benefits of club membership... :-)

    Welcome.
I too purchased my first Porsche 18 months having never considered buying one.
Am already onto my second Boxster.

    Hi Paul,

Welcome to the Club and to this part of the forum.

The Cayman's a great car - I've had mine for nearly 8-years. Enjoy it!

Thanks for the kind words! I almost purchased a brand new 718 Cayman but I came across this 987 Gen II & thought it represented great value for money as a first foray into Porsche ownership... 👍

Your new car looks great, particularly in white.

Wow! Great looking car! That's convinced me I need to acquire a set of wheel centre caps with full colour Porsche crest!
I think I'm going to enjoy the 987 Gen II ownership experience... 🤔

I did the same when I bought my 987 Gen II with black/silver wheel centres that looked a bit tired.
I bought a genuine OE set from Design911 and kept the old ones.
Then when I traded in the 987 for the 981, I put the black/silver ones back on and then fitted the coloured ones to the 981.

Whereabouts are you DrD? It would be good to put them side by side!
I'm planning to be at the Oulton Park Gold Cup August BH weekend.

I agree - the original centres are in good condition but they look dull in comparison to the coloured version. I assume they're not 'too' expensive?!?

I'm Hampshire based but I'm very keen to make the most of Cayman ownership... I'll have to look into the Oulton Park event.... :-/

Greetings! I've now added a set of full colour centre caps to my wheels & they look great! I purchased them from a reputable seller on eBay & the quality is surprisingly good, they even have the small holes to allow easy removal if required!
Weather permitting I'll be giving the car a thorough clean inside & out at the (long) weekend & I'll try to capture some decent pictures... :-)

I finally took the opportunity to properly clean the interior of my Cayman. I'm delighted with the results courtesy of Messrs Meguiars, G-Techniq & AutoGlym! 😀 I'll try to upload a picture..
