I have a feeling a new hood fitted will cost a little north of £1k Bob, as my understanding is that it involves about 8 hours labour. Even just buying the top is not cheap - best one I've seen is this :
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PORSCHE-944-968-CONVERTIBLE-TOP-BLUE-90-91-92-93-94-95/180328439995?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649
but about £340 plus import duty so over £400.

Is your hood damaged so needing replacement, or just looking tired? When I first got my cab I used Renovo's 3 products to clean, recolour then reproof my hood, it came up like new and still looks reasonable 6 years (and a couple of reproofings) later, although the colour has faded and I should really re-do it.

You might also want to enquire on the porsche968uk forum, there are quite a few 968 owners in the Midlands - and quite a few cab owners as well!

Hi Bob
Have a word with Tony Wickins. He's regional officer for R12 (Norfolk & Suffolk) tony.twservices@btinternet.com
He imported a new, German made, blue cab roof from an American retailer and had it fitted in Suffolk. I've seen it, it's excellent and much cheaper than Porsche quoted. Though you would have to find a fitter closer to home !
Good luck
Peter

There is also Southbound,,,,,
booking her in will be a pita though but they will do a proper job,,,
not cheap if costs are paramount,,,,jay

Cheers,
Mine has got some small cuts in the main hood and the back window is slightly torn with stitching coming apart. Not sure whether the original one which may be on is Mohair or some other canvas
thanks for help

Also very recent post by cab owner on 968uk :

Just bought new magenta roof materia from German Auto Tops.

I contacted Monsoon Automotive (East Sussex) to quote me a fitting price - just under £600 (inc. VAT) - and will take 1.5 days to fit, usually with a lead time of 2 weeks.

Reading the post, I believe this does not include the inner lining, whcih is extra ($225 plus shipping and import duty from German Auto Tops).

Has anyone herd of the hood guys in Birmingham and knows how good they are. I'm having trouble with them returning emails.
