URGENT: 3 Owners in <2 years. Should I be worried?

I am off to OPC Bristol tomorrow to look at a 991.1 GTS in Carmine Red. It has had 3 owners already although only 15 reg and 22k miles. Is this many owners a sign that something is fundamentally wrong with the car?
I am further concerned that it is cheap at only £89k when others are £90k - £93k. Should I smell a lemon?

No problem with the 3 owners. Some people are serial buyers and keep their latest model just a few months - I know one who had three 991s in less than a year - 2WD 4WD and Cab... Just check it hasn't had any accident damage and look at the 111point checklist for comfort.
If the OPC gives you a decent warranty then you should be fine. It's the right colour too [:D]

2 years is the maximum you will get.

Even when you come to renew your warranty in 2 years the maximum is still two years.

I got nearly three years warranty on my Boxster S Peter
it had one year left of its porsche warranty and the OPC added another two years so it warranted and porsche assistanced till November 2019

Hi Dylan

Thanks for that. What I should have said is that 2 years is the maximum you can buy at any one time.

I guess you were quite lucky as really because when you trade in a Porsche with the extended warranty it can be cashed in by the owner who is selling it.

If it had 3 owners, one of them could have been a demo model. The GTS I sold back to PC had 1 owner previously, because of being a demo model. The price you quote is correct, due to the higher than usual milage

In the end, I didn't buy that car but not because of any concerns about its history. I was much reassured, and educated, by your comments and advice. Many thanks to all who responded.
I ended up buying a "2 owner" car which was an ex demonstrator with only one private owner.
Thanks again.

i guess it may have been karma Peter !! Because 3 years ago I sold my previous Boxster s with over 12 months of porsche warranty remaining !!
all the best

I wouldn't worry about 3 owners in a short space. I recently owned a 997 C4S for nine weeks until something different took my fancy and I couldn't say no. My Boxster has had 10 owners since new (it was first registered in '05) and it's absolutely fine. As Peter said, many people are serial buyers. One of the joys of buying used Porsches (at the moment, anyway) is the relatively slow depreciation rate. You can buy a car, keep it for a few months or a year or two and then trade it in at a great price for a different model.
