what can I say the 991 is absolutely fantastic we have had a lovely weekend in north wales this car loves fast a roads and I think I want a gts 4

Did you take pictures? Great scenery and roads, agreed, but where did your car make you feel the need for a GTS4?

Sorry didn't take any photos . I really like the way the 911 handles on fast a roads and just eats the bends I think I might swap for a 911gts

as Peter said, why do you feel the need for a GTS4 rather than 2wd?

I'm interested because I'm thinking of changing my car for a GTS.

i think the 4 wheel drive feels better i had a 991 4s in 2013 on loan for a weekend and did the same trip as i did at the weekend and the 4s felt stronger so if you go for the gts you get more for your money . must try the new gts

You certainly do, more cogs and driving bits, heavier chassis and the benefit of additional understeer - not to mention more opportunities for fuel fill-ups. [;)]:ROFLMAO:

I too had a 991.2 C4S for a day and it was a great car BUT - the next day I had a shorter drive of a 991.2 C2S and it felt more nimble and lighter to handle, so much so that I decided there and then to forget the 4WD. Both cars had RWS, the C4S had PDCC and Sport PASM in addition but the C2S still felt to me better to drive.

So what is the opinion on the RWS, really worth having or more weight, more to go wrong etc with marginal difference?
Does anyone have a GTS Gen 2 yet - is it much lower at the front than the C2S and does it really need axel lifting or not?

Russell

On my 991.2 GTS I do have the default -20mm sports suspension, and do not have the front lift. The apron on the front is rubber, if it does get caught on a bump. The ground clearance at the front was exactly the same hight as my previous 4GTS.

I have already done over 2000 miles on my new 2GTS and have only caught the front on a bump ones. I think it depends whether you have a steep drive into your garage.

For this model, I went for the rear wheel drive rather than the 4GTS and I have found it just so good as my previous 4GTS. I do have rear steering on this one and also the PDCC. I had good fast run down from Llandudno this weekend on the A470 to Cardiff which is a brilliant road to test the car. The car handled brilliantly.

I have the 4 way adjustable sport seats and have found them very comfortable, I am glad I did not go for the 18 way adjustment.

Better manoeuvrability, improved high speed stability, sharper feel and very little weight penalty - just some pivoting joints, stepper motors and wiring. Definitely worth considering, but the car will be great with or without the extra kit.

Thanks for the info Clive & Huw [:)]

Has anyone got any views on alcantara vs leather?
Never had it in any car, how does it wear/mark etc?

Very comfortable, I have had not experienced any problems on my previous one or so far on this one. I also sticked to the alcantara steering wheel rather than the option leather.

Just looking at a 991 4s cab any thoughts its the same colour and spec as my car but it's the 4s . Must admit I love the glass roof on my car

Personally I'm not keen on the look of any 911 Cab, they look much better as a Coupe or Targa. For a soft top I think the Boxster looks better - roof down it looks like it was made to be a convertible.

Had a test drive in a Gen 2 GTS Coupe yesterday and it was awesome!
It has lost some of the theatrical volume that I have with the Gen 1 at the moment, but it still sounded very good.
Factor in the addition of a dose of turbo whistle (if you like that sort of thing), the extra torque and loads of extra pace, what is there not to like [:)]

Pleased to hear you liked it - I've got a GTS ordered, lockdown (or freeze point they sometimes now call it) is tomorrow so delivery date is getting nearer. Very excited!

I must confess, so do I :)
I've got a July build slot confirmed, so hopefully end of July/early August - Can't wait, not had a new one before, just ex demo's.
What colour did you go for?
I went for Miami Blue, it was a close call with Red, but the one I test drove was the blue and it looked really nice.

Great! Mine should be at the OPC around 20th July, but I will probably not be collecting it until early August (bad timing for me unfortunately).
It's a C2, GT Silver, GTS Interior, PDCC/RWS, LED's, PDK, Glass Sunroof, 18 way seats, Bose, Cruise, ParkAssist with camera, plus a few other bits and bobs. I intend keeping the car for a while so have indulged myself a little on the options!

Yeah nice, GT Silver will look great with the black contrasting bits!
I went for LED's, Camera, glass roof, black windows, PDK, Cruise, speed limit, white dials in chrono, standard interior except a bit of brushed ally to break it up.
