356 Interior Trim Replacement - Recommendations

Have to say the car was at the Stamford Hall VW show, wether you like it or not the finish on the car was exceptional. Personally don't get the lowered to the floor look but have to give credit on the workmanship on the car.

Hi Guys, still can't master how to add my 968 and my 356 as a small list of currently owned cars down on the left hand side like you do? Also do you list your previous Porsches underneath?

Worked it out too :)

You have to click on My Profile from the very top menu above, and then enter what you want your signature to say into the Forum Details -> Signature box

Then when you post a message it _should_ attach your signature, if not you can edit it like my one above and click the 'attach signature' checkbox that comes up

HTH

I have looked at my signature post and I had entered all my Porsche ownership before I see. Then I pressed Save. So I have now sent this post to,see if anything different will happen???

No Luck! Feeling like a bit of a Wally now ( no offence to anybody named Wally out there!) I have all my stuff in the signature box and the only button to click on is the top right hand side that says 'edit' . Can't seem to locate 'attach signature ' checkbox!!

So I don't waste anyone's time here. I will list my stable below and see if it shows up every time I post?

Firstly, I have a black interior 'C' and want to change it to caramel/ camel colour. Can anyone give me any idea what sort of money I would be looking at to complete. I have not approached any professional restoration guys as yet. Thought I would get some feedback first. So we're looking at door panels, rear seats, then the bigger picture is headlining and front seats ( in leather) Carpets would be light brown sisal stuff. I see some suppliers have ready made panels but they only seem to be in Cream/ off white.

Secondly, I need the suppliers to install all the items.

968 Tipo

356 'C'

Hi Tony , you are better off asking someone who does it for a living - try visualfx - if you need better reference to them go to the ddk-online.com website . HTH

Best guy to give you some idea of cost is southbound. Last time I looked at website items were priced by model so hope that help.

I have a very good supplier and fitter in Cambridge area. Let me know if you want more details.

Thanks guys! Appreciate the contacts and have since had an answer back from mike thomas trimming who has offered complete interior with original carpet loop from Germany and leather seats.

Now got to consider the leather against vinyl option for seats (price difference) as a mate has his in leather and when you open the door it smells like a brand new 356.

Currently in the Cotswolds but happy to travel for the right job.

You are most welcome to see my 356 which was done by company close to Newmarket. Well respected and worked on many classics including Gullwings and others. At least you could see from mine what to expect before making the leap of faith.

Save money on leather Tip. Buy vinyl I did - original was vinyl anyway. Everyone says my car smells lovely, real old and that lovely leather smell. Funny thing is there is not a bit of leather in it.

Tip. Take a new Shammy leather. Cut a piece approx 4 inches square out of the corner. Soak in leather restorer. Tuck it under the seat. Smells great and save you £££££££££££££££££££'s.

@jdpef356

Your interior looks amazing - fantastic job by your trimmers there!

I need to get my carpets and interior replaced also, so perhaps we can move this to a different thread and discuss over there?(*perhaps a bit more relevant than the title of this thread!)

Also, Southbound (Stockbridge, Hampshire), Newmarket and Mike Thomas Trimming (Petersfield, Hampshire) are all 1:30+ from me in Central London - anyone have a recommendation that's a little nearer to home?

Many thanks, Alex

BTW still only able to add my signature if I edit the post and tick this box as attached
