Hi all,

At Brands Hatch tomorrow and was wondering what pressures are recommended for my 997.1T either cold / static or when warmed up?

In the past I have tracked my 996 and reduced the PSI by 3-5 I think but that was a while back, suggestions appreciated.

Also, going with a 911 track day virgin who has a 997.2 GTS4 - same question about pressure please.

Thanks and may see you there!

I would recommend maintaining standard pressures, which means you will need to let some air out periodically as pressures rise with increasing tyre temperatures.

You will also need a small 12v air compressor to reinstate the correct pressures when you're ready for the journey home and tyres have cooled.

If you get a nitrogen fill for next time, you will find pressure variation is greatly reduced.

There is an article on tyre pressures and their affect on the car in the Register's technical section.

Regards,
Clive

Thanks for the input Clive - will have a compressor with me bur sure BH will have one. Made that mistake when I was younger.

Was just thinking what I should drop my starting pressures to?

I will look and see what the TPS say when driving at speed on the way there and monitor it around the first few laps.

Does 36 and 30psi as starting pressures sound fair?

I did see an article on tyre pressure embedded in a track day article - interesting.
