The track day section now shows that there are 2 Blyton days being run by this region on 26th May and 8th September, both Fridays.

Great news and thanks to those putting the effort in. (We may need to be quick to apply once the event is open for entries due to them being included as part of the overall list).

I read elsewhere that it's temporarily not available, will no doubt be back on the track day section of this forum soon.

Thanks,

have sent an email,

to anyone not been to a track day before, I had my first track day at Blyton Park with Region 4 last year and

it was one of the best days behind the wheel ever !

We will have entry forms for Blyton very shortly - anyone interested meanwhile please send an e-mail to r4@porscheclubgb.com and I will ensure you get a form as soon as they available.

I think the events mailing wording re insurance is unclear, a "no" is required instead of "so"

"Please note that whilst this is a PCGB Track Day, [strike]so[/strike] no liability insurance is arranged through PCGB, your vehicle may not be insured for accident damage if you do not have appropriate track day insurance."

The intention was to make it clear the event does have public liability insurance through the club. An entrant would need to make their own arrangements with their insurers regarding track day insurance.

On reflection my previous post did not read well. It was possibly a little negative towards the 'new' Blyton and could potentially cause embarrassment to the club, neither of which was my intention. No offence intended. I think (hope) I've deleted it. I'm probably getting a bit old and irritable and don't like change if I perceive a risk to something I like such as when big corporate takes over plucky independent.

I'm sure Ginetta (a brand I'm fond of, would love a G4) have the best intentions for Blyton and will continue to welcome visitors and revenue. I go there a lot to spectate and participate in the odd track day.

Good luck to all involved and I'm looking forward to the track day.

I have spoken with Richard Usher at Blyton and as expected our bookings and pricing for this year are still confirmed. He will be the MD of Blyton going forward and the implication is not much will change, he certainly is looking forward to welcoming PCGB in the years to come.

So, if you haven't already entered get your entries in for one of our usual fun packed, enjoyable days!

I presume this event is still running? (May 26th).

I'm hoping to be able to get the day off work to pop over with the video and stills camera to get some footage, and to meet up with the R4 folks again.

(Anyone who objects to being filmed just let me know on the day and i will point the camera at my feet when you zoom past) [:)]

Do we have a confirmed start time? I don't want to arrive late and cause any issues for organisers etc!

(I've already emailed Rod and he doesn't see a problem with spectating/filming on the day).

Rgds

I received an email this week confirming the details for the 26th. Briefing 8.15 with siting laps commencing 8.45, Andy.

See you there

Ian

For anyone coming to Blyton tomorrow, competing or spectating, don't forget your suntan cream, and water/liquids especially if you're competing - looks like it may be a tad warm and sunny [8D]

Slightly off topic but on Blytons website, I can't get the calendar to display properly.

I just get the event key at the bottom and a blank screen - is it just me?

Tony

Well just tried it, Tony, and key comes up first, followed shortly afterwards by the calendar. So its working here. I'm using a MacBookpro and Safari as the browser, in case that is relevant. Try a different browser?

Rod

Thanks Rod,

Interesting, just tried it again and still the same result, on MacBook Pro and Safari (10.11), running Sierra 10.12.5.

Flash player isn't installed, wonder if thats the issue? I'll talk to Richard tomorrow and see if that's it.

Tony
