To Ssteale, sorry, I had to delete your post on the previous page as it was crashing some browsers!  I think others have now indicated how to post photos.

I'm speeding because I have to get there before I forget where I'm going.

As the proud owner of a 991.1 of 2012 vintage I thought to apply to join this section of the forum. I have been fortunate to have enjoyed a close up and personal history with air cooled Porsches and Porsche club folks over the years, so much so that my membership number has only three digits. Should you wish any further detail of my past sins, if you care to visit the 911SC section of the forum and work your way through a rambling thread I started entitled "Air Cooled Memories" I suspect there is detail enough contained therein to create a clone....(-:
As for my "new" Porsche I bought it sight unseen other than a via a walk around vid from a BMW dealership, which is a few hundred miles distant from me. I managed to talk the salesman into creating a vid of the underside with the underskirts removed during their PDI checks. The Vids in combination with scans of the service book were enough for me to become hooked, and with the backup of distance selling regs and that I was dealing with a large multi franchise dealership (Porsche included),  I was reasonably confident that I might not suffer any real issues... Time will tell.
Having only owned my C4S for just over a month or so, I have yet to reach the time limitation before I can put it through the 111 point check at my local Porsche dealership with the hope of putting it on to the extended warranty scheme, though whether I need to remove the grills a former owner has installed in front of the rads or not..Hmm..?  I guess I can understand in very warm climatic conditions that grills being a restriction/disturbance in the airflow reaching the rads could create issues... or/and that dependant on materials the grills themselves can corrode to the extent their mesh might expand and further restrict airflow..Hmm..?
My local Porsche centre were kind enough to carry out a complimentary health check which kicked up nothing other than puncture repair out of date... so far, so good..?
Yeah it is quite a different machine from the air cooled Porsches I enjoyed over a decade or so and light years from the old sports car I have enjoyed for the last 20 or so years, but in time I hope to feel ever more at home behind it`s multitude of controls... You can bet I will give it my best shot.. (-:
I will try to remember the process to post a pic for any who might have interest..fingers crossed.

FAILURE on the pic front... Seems I managed in the past direct from my PC without the need to give control of my pics to a third party, which I am not inclined to do... One might think that PCGB had funds enough to create a more user friendly interface..? NOT that I am complaining, just a tad confused.. (-:

Hi there,
know what you mean about photos - bit of a faff to sort those here isn't it - anyway - hope you enjoy the new wheels and do put up a photo when you get to grips with it - just one uploaded onto another site works for a link to this one. anyway I have a 2014 991.1 and am still enjoying it. Thinking about changing for a 992 and really undecided about that.
distance selling not too bad for me - have done a few and all turned out as expected so not the minefield it's supposed to be - dealers do want to sell cars after all and faking videos or pics is a sure recipe to not sell cars isn't it....
on the grills, warranty approval in most cases requires their removal (bonkers isn't it) but there it is - some people with friendly dealers get them by, but most do not - so received wisdom is to remove them before going in for the 111 point check then put them back on afterwards. Also makes financial sense to buy warranty 2 years at a time and not one if that helps you.
anyway, hope you have fun with the new wheels.

Stick with the grills if they are in good nick. I have not had any issue with restricted airflow and I like the protection for the rads. Plus I think they look great! I remove them for 111 - they are easy to replace and it’s a good opportunity to thoroughly clean them. Enjoy your new car!

Many thanks for taking the time to respond to my post folks. The grills seem to be in fine fettle and look as if Porsche intended them to be there, thanks for sharing your thinking on removing them for the 111 date.
As for the photo frustration...!  Got to wonder why it seems no longer to be an option to post pics direct from my PC, which of course could be down to my lack of grey matter, on the other hand If not that, then I am curious as to why it might now be required to accept the rules and regs that a 3rd party hosting site may place upon me and my pics...?   If there was a change in the modus operandi who or what instigated it..?  Feels like I have been somewhat neutered without the ability to illustrate my usual rambling, which seems a pity as I do like to share my Porsche experiences.
As for the joy and fun factor relating to this new acquisition.... it is such a wonderfully sculptured thing, just to see it in the garage alongside the other long term inhabitant brings a great sense of satisfaction and achievement every time I open the door and enter the building, fire it up and WOW what an engine, not quite as raucous as it`s stable-mate, being a tad more subtle, competent and less likely to wake the dead when heading out for an occasional mid Summer dawn run round the "A" & "B" roads hereabouts, but for Covid I suspect we might have planned a bit of continental touring in the hope of becoming fully acquainted with my "new" Porsche.
Also thanks for the heads up on the extended warranty, I had hoped to perhaps buy three years in the one go, if the 111 point check goes well.

Use the "reply" contained within the blue ribbon on the post itself not the Quick Reply at the bottom.
Scrolling down to the lower section, you will see
"Upload file(s) to the server" with a window beneath and a "Select" button beside it.

If you click on this it will enable you to select a photo file from your file manager. This will then appear in the window and when you submit your post, your photo should appear too.

Note your photo this way, a PCGB watermark appears in it and you will no longer enjoy excusive rights to it. Using a third party hosting site allows you to retain ownership. BTW - your photo will not upload if it is larger than 3500 kB. Check the file size first in your file manager and resize the photo file size if necessary.

Regards,

Clive

Oh dear, I'm using Microsoft Edge browser over Windows 10. Your setup may well be different.

Here's the screen shots from my system:-

Click on this reply link.
You should then get to this screen

With the upload feature

If these don't appear, you may need help with your system. Mobile phones and Ipads sometimes have different setups.

Many thanks for trying to resolve my issue Clive... I managed to follow instruction set first time round, to end up without the option to "upload file(s) to server."
Your screen grab presents a different set of options than that which is available on my Windows Laptop with Microsoft Edge as my browser... in that at the bottom left of my "reply" page  there are

OPTIONS
With a drop down menu box below
GET INSTANT NOTIFICATION
The dropdown selection offers daily or weekly digest.
Blow that
ATTACH MY SIGNITURE option

Below that the boxes to select either Submit Post,  Preview or Cancel...?

All rather confusing.

Andrew, thanks for jumping in, I was loosing confidence and put it down to my usual digital dilemmas..
When I was contributing to my post "air cooled memories" I too had the same format available as Clive posted a screenshot of.... but not now..?
I ever used "Quick Reply" then opened (the full version) from which I was able to post pics direct from my laptop.
On failure of that system, I tried using the "Reply" option in the blue banner at the bottom f the last post as Clive suggested but it too failed to provide the option to
"upload file(s) to server" option..
I hope the mods can delete these posts for they would seem to spoil the 991 owners cars section...?

Try altering your screen size to see if that includes the detail you need. Otherwise, send a screenshot to George at HQ media@porscheclubgb.com of your page. Maybe he can suggest something.

Thanks for trying to help Clive.
Currently the only thing other than the forum page using all my laptop`s available screen pixels is the MS Edge banner at the top of the screen..

Need to educate myself  as to capturing and sending a screenshot..!

Try deleting all your cookies in Edge (3 dots/ Settings/Privacy, Search and Services/Clear browsing data) and logging on using the website rather than any link in Subscription Notification email.

If that doesn't work, it's way above my paygrade!

I greatly appreciate all the help, and believe me I need it too...
I am also keen on keeping things as simple as possible, thus deleting this that and the other, or loading up another couple of browsers to try to resolve the issue, kinda goes against the grain..?
More notably just as AndrewCS reports, he found that access to the "upload files to sever" was available in an different thread of the forum..?
Strange as it seems, I too can access the "upload  files to server" on the "air cooled memories" thread of the forum...!
George has been in touch with advice, however the more I look into this, it looks more like a flaw in the programme..?
Thanks for the suggestion Simon, I have a couple of old PC`s that I may be able to bring back into service... though suspect that it may just complicate the issue... (-:
