Bought first Porsche mid Nov (just before my 50th - some say "mid life crisis", I say "s0d off") - just joined PCGB 2003 Targa in stunning deep blue* Had a long weekend in Scottish Borders at the weekend - got caught in the snow and had to travel from Edinburgh -> Galasheils along the A7. Mostly due to the geo being so far out in the first place 😀. Went from Conti’s to PS2’s. First drive of the year in fantastic weather. I Went cross-country from Warrington to Southport using the back lanes around Bikerstaffe, Ormskirk and Clieves Hill. Mostly Flat farmland scenery, narrow tracks edged by drainage ditches either side that link the bigger A roads. Hardly any traffic. Not as easy as shown on a Youtube video! Got the new fan in but having great difficulty putting back the plastic ducting behind the fan. It pulled out easy enough but getting it back into its proper place before fitting the main metal frame is proving a nightmare. Problem seems to be the flexible skirt around the duct which needs to go around the fan. Keeps on bending back at the far edge where there is only a little access and this stops it going to place properly. Tried holding it to the fan assembly and putting it in as one unit but just cannot get it to fit. Anyone had this difficulty and can give tips on best way to do it? As I am really struggling! This took me considerably longer just using a jack and working on my drive. Taking bits off was much easier than putting them back on again, some were quite awkward and I definitely recommend taking photos of each of the "before" stages as a reminder where screws go and how bits fit together. What an awful job, if it could be seized, it was. Ended up replacing everything bar the calipers. At least the brakes are back with no juddering from higher speeds now. It lifts the cabin, gives you more leg room as you can sit much lower and I now don’t get a bad back after a few hours of driving. They are a straight bolt in swap with a bit of hocus pocus on he electrics (I got Bahnsport to do the electrics) Quote Reply #717

Changed the xenon bulbs to the D2S xenonarc one. MY '03 996 Turbo Coupe, Arctic Silver with black, 6MT. Quote Reply #718

I just read your post. I have owned a 2001 targa for 6 months. When you say geometry done? Do you mean having the wheel alignment done or something more?
