pairing iphone with the PCM

Hi folks,
I bought a 2009 Cayenne S. It's lovely except that i Can't get the radio to pair with my phone via bluetooth. I have an iphone 5.
It works on my friend's phone.
When they eventually recognise each other, I get to put in a code of my choice and then....nothing happens and it says that it is out of range.
The radio is a PCM3.
Please help

I had the same issue and the PCM needed an update to work with my iPhone 5S. It took my local OPC 30 minutes to do the update. Strangely the Service Managers iPhone 5 worked fine so it may have been the iPhone software version or firmware that was the issue.

I paired my iphone 7 with no issues to a PCM3 in my 987.2 however, I read in the PCM manual (if found a copy online) that for iphones you need to initiate the pairing from the phone rather than the PCM

For my phone I didn’t need to do that (I paired successfully from the PCM)but possibly for older iPhones that may be sensitive to sequence.
